Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts

The Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts serves as a cultural focus point in the Mission, and is a place that presents contemporary and ancient artistic traditions of Latin America.  The four-story building consists of wood floors on steel and concrete beams with concrete perimeter walls.

The brilliant mural on the front concrete wall is on the historic register, but the concrete wall is discontinuous at the ground level.  RJSD has performed an ASCE 41 Tier 1 and Tier 2 evaluation of the building, and is in the process of designing the retrofit to address the deficiency of this front wall.  If funding is available, the retrofit will include other deficiencies noted in the evaluation.
